I’d want to share with you a detox smoothie pairing two amazingly healthy ingredients: arugula and avocado 🌱. In addition to the arugula and avocado, this recipe uses an apple, a kiwifruit, still (mineral) water, and a table spoon of lemon or lime juice. For topping, I’ve used sunflower seeds and cranberries, but you can replace these with, for instance, beautiful kiwifruit slices. This smoothie is rather unusual, but it is excellent for detox purposes. The apple and avocado are perfect companions to the arugula. Why? Because they neutralize the bitter and slightly peppery taste of arugula. Finally, the kiwi fruit and lemon juice simply make the smoothie tastier. All in all, despite being just a bit unconventional, I still consider this one of my favorite detox smoothies!
Some of you might wonder: how do you then know that you need to detox? Sometimes, it’s as easy as listening to your body. If you feel like your body is upset with you, begging you to stop eating unhealthy foods, you might benefit from replacing a meal with a detox smoothie for a day or two.
