Ah, cherries. 🍒 These sweet ruby-colored fruits have made their way into my heart. When I was a kid, I frequently visited my aunt who had several huge cherry trees in her garden. I remember how I had to climb up a tall ladder to get the cherries. I probably spent hours sitting on the ladder and enjoying the fresh fruit directly from the tree. They were so delicious! This is probably the tastiest memory from my childhood.
I love cherries in all possible forms: frozen, fresh, in pies, in compotes, pierogi, in smoothies, you name it. Literally anything that’s made with cherries is just perfect for me 😁 Unsurprisingly, cherry smoothies are among my favourite smoothies. They are pleasantly sweet and purely delightful. And did I mention the color? I just love the deep pink color that cherries bring to a smoothie. Isn’t it gorgeous?

Preparation tips:
- If you don’t like banana in smoothies, replace it with some extra cherries or some other sweet neutral fruit like a pear.
- I like using oats in my morning smoothies. Oats are a great filler ingredient that you can add nearly to any smoothie. You can barely taste them but they add a lot of healthy elements such as dietary fiber, manganese, phosphorus, zinc and a bunch of other vitamins and minerals. Once again, if oats are not your thing, you can simply replace them with cashews or protein powder, or skip them altogether.
