This Mango Kale Smoothie without Banana is probably one of the most delicious green smoothie combinations I have ever tried. It has a healthy green color but it’s also incredibly delicious, setting it apart from many green smoothies. It’s naturally fruity and sweet without added sweeteners.
The ingredients in this smoothie are mango, orange, kale and almond milk. I love combining mangoes and oranges in my smoothies. This recipe is actually rather similar to my Tropical Mango Orange smoothie. This smoothie, however, is even healthier thanks to the kale, which adds more nutrients and vitamins.
This mango kale smoothie makes a perfect snack or pick-me-up drink and contains only 170 calories per one 10 oz serving. It is loaded with vitamins and minerals, especially vitamin A, vitamin K, vitamin C and copper. This is a well-balanced smoothie that will provide you with about 5 g of protein and less than 3 g of fat. Fat is important in this smoothie because it helps your body better absorb the Vitamin A and Vitamin K.
In this recipe, I use a whole big kale leaf. It gives a light “grassy” aftertaste to the smoothie, which I find really pleasant. It is, however, almost unnoticeable. However, if you are a picky eater of green, use less kale – half a leaf, for instance.
How to Achieve a Homogeneous Texture in a Green Smoothie
The trick is simple, really. You just need to blend the greens separately from other ingredients. Start with the liquid base (milk, juice or water) and kale. Blend the greens until there are no green pieces left. Next, add the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. Now you have a smooth and soft-textured green smoothie to enjoy 🙂
Mango Kale Smoothie without Banana
- 1/2 cup almond milk (or any liquid of your choice)
- 1 mango (2 cups)
- 1 orange
- 1 leaf kale (1 cup tightly packed)
- First, blend the liquid and kale until smooth.
- Next, add mango and orange chunks and process until you get the desired consistency.
